Greencore Prepared Meals has joined forces with the renowned chef Vivek Singh to develop and launch a range of premium Indian chilled sauces.

Inspired by his award-winning modern-Indian restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen in the City, the sauces will be sold exclusively at Waitrose stores nationwide from 17th November. Located in the fish, meat and poultry aisle, they will offer consumers the same authentic fine-dining experience that can be found in Vivek’s restaurants.

The range includes:

· Cashew Nut Korma – a mild and creamy sauce which uses cashew nuts and a blend of aromatic spices, including green cardamom, mace and nutmeg, to create a luxurious texture, rich flavour and mild but deep notes from the aromatic spices.

· Tomato & Fenugreek Makhani – a classic Punjabi sauce which is hearty, fragrant and colourful, made of buttery tomatoes fragranced with fenugreek leaves, blended spices and garlic.

· Kerala Curry – an authentic spicy tomato and coconut sauce with a blend of fragrant spices and a kick of chilli. A complex combination of spices including hot pepper, sweet coconut, spicy mustard and chilli, sour tamarind and fresh curry leaves.

· Goan Spiced Vindaloo – a hot and spicy sauce featuring aromatic spices combined with warming chilli and garlic. Originally a Portuguese dish, Vindaloo is now synonymous with the region of Goa. It is made with hot spices, cloves, cinnamon and pepper which are balanced with sweetness from onions and sourness from vinegar.

Priced at RSP £2.29 with a six-week introductory price of £1.79, the Cinnamon Kitchen At Home sauces will appeal to both novice and confident cooks. They can be added simply to meat or vegetables, or can be used as a base to create more complex Indian dishes. The range will feature on-pack recipe tips from Vivek as well as recommendations from wine expert Laurent Chaniac on the perfect accompaniment for each sauce.

Vivek Singh comments: “I had become disillusioned with the quality of Indian products on the market and wanted to offer shoppers an at-home range with the authentic flavours and textures that diners enjoy at Cinnamon Kitchen. My aim was to develop a range of sauces that will inspire and excite foodies and curry-lovers to head to the kitchen and get creative. We’ve done the hard work creating perfectly balanced sauces.”
