On Sunday 18th October I am taking part in The Great Birmingham Run in support of our industry charity Grocery Aid.

The run is a half marathon which is 13.1 miles around Birmingham city centre. Training is going well so far and I am hoping to complete the distance in around two hours.

Grocery Aid is the national charity for the grocery industry and has helped more than 2,000 people from the industry in the last 12 months.
Founded in 1857 they have been helping and supporting the industries work force through hard times ever since.
This great work requires funding though and that money is raised mostly through donations and fundraising events.

With this in mind I am hoping to raise plenty of money for the charity whilst taking part in this great event. The minimum amount I need to raise to take part is £150 however I am hoping to raise more than that if I can.

If you would like to support this great charity then I have set up a Just Giving page in order to raise the much needed sponsorship money.

Any help you can give me to reach and exceed the target will be very much appreciated by  myself as well as many of our colleagues who have fallen on harder times who will benefit from your kind donations.
