Our colleagues at Manton Wood were delighted to be able to provide sandwiches for a group of young people throughout the school summer holiday, after a request for support from a colleague.

Zahid Minhas, Financial Analyst at Greencore supports and coaches Sheffield-based Darnall Football Academy in his spare time. During the school summer holidays the club decided that it wanted to help provide lunches for the young players, several of whom would have missed out on their school meals during the holidays.

Zahid contacted the Greencore team at Manton Wood to see if they would be able to help and they stepped up, providing 80 sandwiches each day for the young people during the summer holidays.

Commenting on the Greencore donation, Zahid said; “I was so grateful for Greencore’s support. Darnall Football Academy has been holding activities for the youngsters throughout the summer holiday and it’s been great to be able to provide them with some lunch too.”

Elaine Neale, HR Business Partner at Greencore said, “We’re happy to support local organisations where we can. We understand the importance of being able to help provide the young people with a great tasting, nutritious lunch and want to thank Zahid and the other volunteers at Darnall Football Academy for supporting this initiative”.

Darnall FA was established in 2013 to help raise the aspirations of young people from different ethnicities and backgrounds and improve the cohesion with communities in surrounding areas.
