Over the Christmas period, the Colleague Forum at our Northampton site has supported several local charities and organisations.

Thanks to the sourcing of some fantastic prizes, and the generosity of colleagues across the site, the Greencore Northampton Christmas Raffle Prize Draw raised over £1,000 for the Northamptonshire Young Carers Service. This service supports young people aged between 5 – 17 years, who take on responsibility for helping to look after someone (usually a family member) who has a long-term illness or disability.

Our Northampton colleagues also embraced the spirit of giving during the festive season by donating food and essential items to the Hope Centre Food Club, who are tackling food poverty in West Northants. In the photo you can see Matthew Passchier from Hope Enterprise receiving our donations

They also donated Freddo chocolates to the Northamptonshire Health Charity. Commenting on the donation, Lorraine Devereux,  Community Fundraiser at the charity said:

“On behalf of all the team at Northamptonshire Health Charity, I would like to send a huge thank you to you and Greencore for your donations for our Christmas Gift Appeal, I am sure the Freddos went down a storm!

Northamptonshire Health Charity supports three local NHS Trusts across Northamptonshire – Northampton General and Kettering General Hospital as well as the community and mental health hospitals under Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

We are proud to have delivered over 2,000 Christmas gifts to inpatients at the 2 main hospitals and our smaller community hospitals and inpatient services, like our 2 specialist mental health inpatient wards at St Mary’s Hospital in Kettering which offers support to both young and old patients needing support.

We also delivered biscuits and treats to wards across 3 NHS trusts, and included vital services such as our Porters, Domestic teams, Estates, Catering to ensure all staff who were working Christmas Day had a little something nice to eat with grateful thanks from our community.

Your donations helped us achieve this, THANK YOU for your amazing support, we couldn’t have done this without your support.”
