Ahead of Christmas, members of the commercial team at food manufacturer, Greencore Northampton threw a good old-fashioned party for patients, staff and volunteers in the Cynthia Spencer Hospice Wellbeing Centre, and of course provided the festive nibbles too!
Anthony Chadwick, business manager at Greencore Northampton, said: “What a start to the Christmas period, we are always welcomed with open arms by the Cynthia Spencer team, and enjoyed our afternoon immensely. A hotly contested Christmas quiz hosted by Jack Sampson was great fun, and this was followed by Christmas carols around the piano.
“A lovely way to start the Christmas holidays, we hope the staff, patients and volunteers enjoyed it as much as we did, we are already looking forward to our next visit.”
Claire McEwen, occupational therapist at Cynthia Spencer’s Wellbeing Centre, said: “We’re so grateful to the Greencore team for giving our patients, carers, volunteers and staff such a wonderful festive afternoon. They really were the life and soul of the party! The quiz was fantastic fun, everyone had a Christmas singsong and of course as ever the buffet was enjoyed by all! We look forward to welcoming the team back in the future!”
Mick, a Wellbeing patient who attended said: “I really enjoyed the party, I’ve had a great day! The buffet was very nice and it’s been a really good laugh!”
As well as providing the delicious buffet and helping serve food and drinks, Greencore staff teamed up with patients, carers, staff and volunteers to compete in the festive themed quiz delivered by Jack Sampson from their team. This was then followed by singing songs around the piano including a very animated performance of The 12 Days of Christmas.
