Last year, Greencore distributed the equivalent of 1.5 million meals to those in need. We have a number of different redistribution partners, including FareShare, The Felix Project, Community Shop and The Bread and Butter Thing. You may not have heard of The Bread and Butter Thing, but they are determined to do our bit to reduce food waste in the UK, while at the same time ensuring that surplus food goes to the people who need it the most. They work closely with food manufacturers, such as Greencore, to encourage and help them to donate their surplus food safely and effectively, which they then redistribute to their network of members, via their food hubs and partners.

In the following video, Head of Sustainability at Greencore, Andy Wright speaks with Mark Game at The Bread and Butter Thing, who explains exactly why it is so important to reduce food waste.
