The British Sandwich and Food to Go Association hosted its annual awards ceremony yesterday, The Sammies and we were thrilled that five members of Greencore’s product development team was shortlisted in the Sandwich Designer of the Year competition with six individual products.
A big shoutout to Greencore’s Richard De’ath who won the Flexeserve/ProAmpac Hot-Hold Category with his tasty Steak and Ale Toastie with a Godminster Cheddar Rarebit and to Ildiko Magyari, who was highly commended in the H. Smith Food Group Chicken Category with her delicious Blue Samurai Sandwich
In addition, many of our customers were recognised as winners at the awards:
- Marks & Spencer won the Multiple Retailer category
- Caffè Nero won the Café Retailer – High Street category
- Greggs won the Chain Retailer category
- Marks & Spencer were Highly Commended in the En Route Retailer category, which was sponsored by Greencore
- Sainsbury’s was Highly Commended in the Convenience Retailer category
- Sainsbury’s won the Healthy Product of the Year for their 5 Spiced Chicken & Grain Salad
- Marks & Spencer won the New Food to Go product category with their Siracha Prawn Poke Bowl
- Marks & Spencer also won the New Sandwich Cold Eat product category with their Surf & Turf Brioche Rolls
