Greencore proudly supported the Kettering Armed Forces Day Parade on Saturday, 8 June, by providing freshly prepared sandwiches for the event’s volunteers, cadets, police, and emergency services.

The event, which honours the dedication and service of the UK’s Armed Forces, was a resounding success, with seamless coordination and strong community turnout. Greencore’s contribution ensured that those working behind the scenes and on the front lines of the event were well-fed and appreciated.

Mark Kearney, Greencore’s Supply Chain Manager, personally delivered the food and unexpectedly found himself invited to join the parade alongside the Royal Anglian Regiment and local dignitaries.

“It was an incredible day,” said Kearney. “I was there to support with logistics, but the welcome I received from the organisers and the community was truly humbling. Marching through the town with the regiment and dignitaries was an honour I’ll never forget.”

The event also sparked a meaningful conversation between Kearney and Jeremy Sharmen, the newly appointed High Sheriff of Northamptonshire, about the potential for Greencore to support rehabilitation and employment opportunities for ex-offenders. The company is now exploring how it might contribute to such initiatives in the future.

Greencore remains committed to supporting local communities and fostering inclusive opportunities through its operations and partnerships.
