Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, colleagues across Greencore have supported local organisations through food donations, supplies of non medical PPE and other essential items.

When a local food bank charity was planning to open a new distribution hub, they asked our Crosby site if they had any old trays & baskets that would help their warehouse and supply chain teams. This was to help distribute their food stocks to the different hubs around the St Helens area especially in the build up to the busy Christmas period.

The team at our Crosby site was able to supply around 120 trays & baskets to aid the task.  The food bank took delivery of the trays and they were immediately put to use with supplies that were distributed to their six hub centres in the borough. A spokesperson for the charity thanked Greencore for the donation and said that this will help to ensure that the products can be transported safely, by the staff, as they will help to improve the manual handling tasks involved in their work.
