About this Programme

• Overview

  An Assessment Centre for this programme is scheduled for Tuesday 2nd February 2027 at the Newark site.

  Salary:

  £31,000 per annum, plus a £1,000 welcome bonus once settled in the business. £3,600.00 London Weighting where applicable.

  Duration:

  3 years, commencing 1st September 2027, made up of three 12-month placements across different Greencore locations. Site TBC — could be London, Lincolnshire, Bo’ness (Scotland), Newark, Northampton or Worksop.

  This programme is for the UK chilled and grocery food market and is designed to develop the next generation of Product Developers, equipping you with the technical, culinary, consumer and commercial skills needed to succeed in the industry. Over three years you’ll learn to take a product through the complete development journey — from food trends, insight and idea generation through recipe development, customer presentation, factory trials and ultimately launch — working alongside experienced Product Developers, Chefs and colleagues from across the business. Year 1 focuses on building the foundations; Year 2 on taking greater ownership of recipes, concepts and factory trials; and Year 3 on operating as a Product Developer with increasing autonomy across live projects.

• About you

  • Achieved, or expected to achieve, a minimum 2:2 honours degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Culinary Innovation or a related discipline. A Master’s degree will be considered provided the undergraduate degree is in a relevant food-related discipline.

  • At least three months’ relevant work experience.

  • A genuine curiosity about food, trends, ingredients and how products are created.

  • A clear commitment to developing a career within the food industry and Product Development.

  • Willingness to complete three 12-month placements at different Greencore locations across the UK.

  • Right to work in the UK for the duration of the three-year programme from September 2027.
