Colleagues from the Kiveton HR team completed the Rother Valley Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society on Saturday the 3rd of October 2015.

2,500 participants were involved in the Memory Walk, including the Kiveton Team, hoping to raise £500 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s affects around 17,000 people in South Yorkshire, with further cases potentially undiagnosed. All types of dementia are progressive, with the person’s ability to remember, understand, communicate and reason gradually declining. Alzheimer’s affects an increasing number of families, and can be in many cases immensely difficult to come to terms with and manage going forwards.

The purpose of completing the 10K walk around Rother Valley was to both raise awareness for Alzheimer’s and also raise money to help fund research into the debilitating illness.

As of Monday the 5th of October, the HR Team have raised a tremendous £1,513 for their efforts, triple what they had initially hoped to raise!
