Greencore Grocery in Hull was approached by the homeless charity Emmaus to create a cake for their patron HRH The Duchess Of Cornwall, as part of the Royal visit to Hull earlier this week.

Emmaus provides formerly homeless people a shelter to live, meaningful work in a social enterprise and an opportunity to get back on their feet.

Emmaus were hugely impressed by the cake made by our Head Innovation Chef, Chris Loder, which was on display for The Duchess of Cornwall’s visit to the charity. The visit coincides with Hull’s current year celebrating its City of Culture status.

As part of The Greencore Way and our community engagement programme, our Hull site will continue to work closely with Emmaus supporting the charity in a number of ways in the year ahead.
