Greencore Prepared Meals Category Innovation Chef James Burgess was announced the winner of this year’s ‘GroceryAid Grocery Cook of the Year’ following the final at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon yesterday.

After a successful semi-final rounded earlier this year, with Celebrity Chef Brian Turner CBE judging the entrants, James was up against Chefs from Asda and Bakkavor in yesterday’s final, with the legendary Michel Roux OBE judging the dishes.

Commenting on James’ success, Greencore CEO, Patrick Coveney said that he was delighted and proud of James’ achievement.

Last year, another development chef from Prepared Meals, Will Dickinson also reached the final of this competition.
