At Greencore
to Inclusion & Diversity

We believe that we ultimately differentiate ourselves through our people and therefore we strive to create a culture where our people can be themselves at work and fulfil their potential. We believe that inclusion and diversity enable better business outcomes. Our inclusion and diversity approach embeds our purpose across the business and helps our colleagues belong and thrive just by being themselves. It’s our commitment to making every day better for our colleagues.

We aspire to have
A workforce at least as diverse as the communities in which we operate, the customers we serve, and the consumers who buy our products.
A culture where people can be themselves at work.
An organisation that creates opportunities for our people to fulfil their potential at work.
A business that has inclusion and diversity hardwired into everything we do, where every colleague understands how important it is to us and we demonstrate that every day.

Our Selby team has long been committed to supporting the local community - and their impact just keeps growing. As a site that produces sauces, pickles and dips, they’re able to donate high‑quality, long‑lasting products that don’t require chilling, making them incredibly useful for the charities they support.

L&D Coordinator Martin Brooks has been instrumental in driving this work forward. He’s especially proud of the partnerships built with two volunteer‑run local charities:

Communitea, a mental health support charity running a community café in Selby

Sleepsafe, which helps people experiencing homelessness get back on their feet with accommodation and food for three months

“Since the start of October, we’ve given 11,000 jars to small charities,” Martin shared. “That makes such a big difference and it’s so worthwhile to be able to support them. I’m really proud of the work we do here.”

🎉 Celebrating Suc

At our Devizes and Highbridge sites, supporting local communities goes hand in hand with reducing food waste. When there’s surplus stock of the delicious desserts made on-site, it’s donated to FareShare. And thanks to smart use of point‑of‑sale data, slower‑moving items from the on‑site shop - supplied by multiple sites are also redirected to where they’re needed most.

South West Shop Team Leader Faye Wright plays a key role in making this happen. She works closely with local charities, including the Morland Community Hub and the Weston‑super‑Mare Food Bank, ensuring they receive regular and varied donations.

👏 A brilliant example of how our teams are strengthening community relationships while making sure good food never goes to waste.
